About this camp: This project invites volunteers to engage in the renovation of historic Yenping town street in Xiluo Township, Taiwan, experiencing local culture by repairing old houses and participating in agricultural life over 12 days. Xiluo, with a rich 360-year history, is known for its unique architectural styles and has seen a resurgence thanks to community efforts that focus on preserving its heritage.




Work: – Volunteers will repair the historic houses No. 110 and No. 112 on Yanping Road.- Participants will clean the nearby garden of the local museum.- Volunteers will engage in agricultural activities to experience local culture.- An artistic creation workshop will be part of the program.- The project aims to foster cultural exchange and understanding among international volunteers.



Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation is provided at Xiluo Backpacker House, equipped with comfortable beds, air conditioning, and kitchen facilities.- Volunteers will cook their meals, with options to dine at local restaurants or purchase packed meals.- Internet access is available at the Louyoung Foundation office.



Leisure Activities: – A variety of leisure activities including excursions and exchange parties with locals will be organized.- Participants can enjoy Kung Fu exercises and puppet shows.- There will be opportunities for bike rides and a visit to the night market on free days.
