About this camp: This is the 26th year of the camp’s tradition in YRS, focusing on the ecological maintenance of the Obedska pond, a vital habitat for the Glossy Ibis. Volunteers will work on removing invasive species and cleaning the wetland soil to promote biodiversity, making it crucial for those willing to engage in ecological preservation.
Work: – Maintain the ecological balance of the Obedska pond by removing invasive species.- Clean up wetland soil to support diverse species.- Engage in a large-scale ecological project requiring significant vegetation management.- Contribute to the preservation of a unique European habitat for the Glossy Ibis.- Foster an understanding of the importance of biodiversity in wetland ecosystems.
Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers will stay in two renovated ethno-houses or a house that served as village offices.- Accommodations provide indoor beds for a comfortable stay.- Local housewives will prepare meals, focusing on national cuisine with options for vegetarian diets.
Leisure Activities: – Explore the cultural and historical sites, including Kupinik Fortress and local churches.- Enjoy daily walks in the surrounding forests and along the river Sava.- Participate in organized visits to Belgrade and nearby attractions, with flexibility in planning activities.
