About this camp: Volunteers will work during the night from 20:00 to 08:00 in August and September, taking turns in teams to recover on off-nights and weekends. Activities include finding adult turtles, collecting eggs, moving them to a protected area, releasing newborn turtles, patrolling beaches, and reconstructing turtle camps, with a possibility of working with crocodiles in January and February.
Work: – Work during the night from 20:00 to 08:00 in August and September.- Form two teams among volunteers to take turns working nights.- Find adult turtles and collect their eggs.- Move eggs to a protected place called Vivero.- Patrol the beaches at night and reconstruct turtle camps.
Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers will stay in shared rooms with another volunteer.- Food will be provided during the stay.- Location is in Rincon de Guayabitos, a beach town in Nayarit.
Leisure Activities: – Rincon de Guayabitos is bathed by the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by the Sierra Madre Occidental.- It is a popular tourist destination close to Tepic, Guadalajara, and Puerto Vallarta.- The Riviera Nayarit offers a diverse landscape with both quiet beaches and heavy waves for surfers.
