About this camp: Volunteers will work during the night in August and September, taking turns in teams to manage turtle conservation activities, including egg collection and beach patrolling. Schedule may change based on weather and turtle activity, with recovery time on alternating nights and weekends.
Work: – Work during the night from 20:00 to 08:00 in August and September.- Form two teams to take turns working one night and resting the next.- Collect eggs from adult turtles and move them to a protected location (Vivero).- Release newborn turtles into the sea and patrol beaches at night.- Participate in reconstructing important turtle camps in the region.
Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers will stay in shared rooms with another volunteer.- Food will be provided for all participants.- Accommodation is located in Rincon de Guayabitos, a beach town.
Leisure Activities: – Rincon de Guayabitos is bathed by the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by the Sierra Madre Occidental.- The area is a popular tourist destination near Tepic, Guadalajara, and Puerto Vallarta.- Riviera Nayarit offers a variety of experiences, from quiet beaches to those with heavy waves for surfers.
