About this camp: The Buddhafield Festival is a life-enhancing experience requiring significant volunteer effort, where around eight hundred volunteers setup the site and welcome three thousand visitors. The festival features essential infrastructure, including kitchens, compost toilets, and recreational areas, while offering a variety of roles for volunteers to support the event and engage in community activities.
Work: – Volunteers will work in various roles such as setup crew, stewards, recyclers, and kitchen crew.- Daily morning meetings are required, with work shifts organized based on team needs.- Volunteers can enjoy festival events alongside their work commitments.- Volunteers will receive one day off during setup and two days off during the festival.- Team-based work emphasizes goodwill, communication, and mutual support.
Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers must bring their own tents, sleeping bags, and camping essentials.- Weather conditions can vary, requiring appropriate clothing and supplies.- Buddhafield provides 100% vegan food, with hot drinks and snacks available throughout the day.
Leisure Activities: – The festival lasts five days in the scenic Blackdown Hills of Somerset, England.- Volunteers can participate in organized events around Buddhist themes.- Alternative activities, such as spontaneous musical gatherings, are available.
