About this camp: This workcamp focuses on the character Medea from Euripides, exploring themes of rejection based on gender, nationality, and religion. Participants will engage in acting training, writing, and dramaturgy related to Medea, culminating in public performances at the International Classical Theater of Merida. Training will be led by professionals in theatre and classical culture, with a focus on active participation and creative expression.
Work: – Explore the character Medea and themes of gender and identity.- Engage in acting training, including microtheater and monologue performances.- Participate in the writing and dramaturgy of Medea based on Raquel Bazos’ adaptation.- Assist with technical and human resources during public performances.- Attend and observe other groups’ rehearsals and performances.
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation at MRIDA HOSTEL with a total of 60 beds across 20 rooms.- Facilities include a cafeteria, outdoor spa, common area, and swimming pool.- First meal upon arrival is dinner, and the last meal is breakfast on the day of departure.
Leisure Activities: – Theoretical-practical theatre training sessions.- Rehearsals focusing on the creative exploration of Medea and related characters.- Performances in small format/microtheater guided by an English-speaking instructor.
