About this camp: This workcamp focuses on environmental preservation through activities such as cutting down trees, delimiting protected areas for kitesurfers, and uprooting invasive species to allow endemic species to thrive. Participants will stay in a gte close to the Mediterranean Sea and engage with local residents and elected representatives in a collaborative project aimed at sustainable management of the area.
Work: – Open up the environment by cutting down trees.- Delimit the protected area from kitesurfing zones by installing wooden barriers.- Uproot invasive species to support the reproduction of endemic flora and fauna.- Manage visitor interactions to preserve the area around the pond.- Dedicate 25 hours per week to project activities.
Accommodation and Food: – Stay in a gte provided by the local council, minutes from the Mediterranean Sea.- Facilities include dormitories, sanitary facilities, and a kitchen.- Meals will be prepared in turn by participants.
Leisure Activities: – Located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Etang de Salses Leucate, near Perpignan and the Pyrenees.- Local residents and representatives will participate in the project fostering mutual aid and solidarity.- Leisure activities will focus on discovering local nature and culinary heritage, with transportation provided for outings.
