About this camp: SEEDS volunteers will engage in various activities, including forestry work and vegetable greenhouse maintenance, while participating in a nationwide project focused on raising awareness of ocean pollution and plastic waste. The camp, based at Alvira, encourages hands-on learning through community gardens, wildlife workshops, and outdoor activities, fostering a direct impact on environmental issues.




Work: – Volunteers will work in the forestry section and vegetable greenhouses.- Participate in a project to raise awareness of ocean pollution and engage in cleanup efforts.- Help maintain the environmental education center through gardening and renovations.- Share environmental issues from their home countries and spend time outdoors.- Adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule based on weather conditions.



Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers stay in shared rooms with up to 6 people.- Basic facilities include an equipped kitchen, dining room, and bathroom, with volunteers responsible for cooking and cleaning.- SEEDS provides vegetarian food supplies, and volunteers should bring traditional items for intercultural exchange.



Leisure Activities: – The camp is situated under Inglfsfjall with views of Eyjafjallajkull, providing a peaceful environment.- Outdoor activities and hiking trails with cultural heritage maps are available nearby.- The nearest town, Selfoss, offers amenities like geothermal swimming pools, shops, and cafes.
