About this camp: The South Africa Volunteer Work Camp Association (SAVWA) Sustainable Permaculture Gardening Project is a community-led initiative that promotes low environmental impact living and eco-friendly practices. This transformative week-long volunteer camp in Soshanguve, Gauteng focuses on food security and empowering youth, women, and vulnerable populations through sustainable agriculture and environmental awareness.




Work: – Promote low environmental impact living and eco-friendly practices.- Focus on food security by cultivating a 23m x 8m community garden.- Empower youth, women, and vulnerable populations through education and skills training.- Foster empathy, unity, and self-sufficiency among participants.- Merge permaculture with peace-building and social cohesion methods.



Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers share accommodations, fostering community connections.- Housing is equipped with modern comforts and located near amenities.- Enjoy diverse South African cuisine reflecting various cultural influences.



Leisure Activities: – Engage with diverse cultural backgrounds and share experiences.- Participate in free tours organized by groups during weekends.- Attend cultural nights to present individual countries and cultures.
