About this camp: The workcamp focuses on promoting animal welfare for donkeys, including feeding and basic care tasks, while also enhancing the infrastructure of the donkey shelter. Volunteers will engage in activities such as dry stone wall rebuilding, supporting biodiversity, and contributing to local community development in the rural area of Palancar village, situated within the Natura 2000 network and Douro Internacional Natural Park.




Work: – Feed and care for donkeys- Maintain and improve donkey shelter infrastructure- Rebuild dry stone walls- Support local biodiversity through nest box construction- Assist in community development activities



Accommodation and Food: – Basic housing with electricity featuring bunk beds and shared facilities- No local supermarket; assistance available for volunteers’ needs- Good wifi access at the CAB office in the village



Leisure Activities: – Located in Palancar village within a protected natural park- 6 km from Miranda do Douro city, a rural area facing aging population challenges- Important opportunity for rural development and community engagement
