About this camp: Lohra Castle, with its centuries-old architecture and vast natural surroundings, is a site of historical significance that requires continuous care. This workcamp provides volunteers the opportunity to contribute to the sustainable management of the castle, engaging in seasonal maintenance tasks that preserve the site for future visitors while fostering a sense of responsibility and connection to heritage.
Work: – Volunteers engage in seasonal maintenance tasks to keep the castle grounds accessible and welcoming.- Tasks include mowing, collecting overgrown grass, and clearing organic material from public areas.- General maintenance extends to communal spaces, enhancing the visitor experience during cultural events.- Volunteers experience life in a medieval site, taking on stewardship roles that encourage connection to heritage.- The work supports conservation efforts by reinvesting income generated into the castle’s educational projects.
