About this camp: This workcamp is ideal for nature enthusiasts as it involves outdoor work in the Upahl-Lenzen Nature Reserve, focusing on maintaining the area through hand methods to preserve the environment. The project is a collaborative effort with the environmental agency of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.




Work: – Maintain the Upahl-Lenzen Nature Reserve by mowing meadows and clearing grass by hand.- Utilize traditional farming techniques to support ecological preservation.- Collaborate with the environmental agency of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.- Focus on outdoor activities for nature lovers.- Aim to enhance the natural landscape and biodiversity of the area.



Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers will stay in a youth club that was formerly a kindergarten, with simple and functional accommodations.- A fire pit outside encourages evening gatherings among volunteers.- Meals are self-prepared by volunteers, allowing for a mix of traditional and new recipes.



Leisure Activities: – Lohmen, the village hosting the workcamp, offers a community-oriented atmosphere with around 850 inhabitants.- Opportunities for recreational activities like exploring the labyrinth and participating in sports.- Volunteers can swim in a nearby lake and take excursions to nearby cities like Rostock.
