About this camp: The project in Azumino-city, Nagano, Japan, focuses on supporting an art event with mentally challenged adults, community members, and artists to create large paintings using soil as paint. Volunteers will also maintain event venues and assist with various daytime activities in an environment surrounded by beautiful nature.




Work: – Support for the art event conducted by mentally challenged adults together with community members and artists.- Maintain and prepare art event venues and ateliers, including fields and warehouses.- Assist with daytime activities such as dyeing plants and setting up weaving machines.- Produce large paintings in a field under the guidance of a picture book artist.- Engage in community-based art projects to foster inclusivity.



Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers will sleep in tatami rooms of a separate house near the White Canvas office.- Meals will be prepared by volunteers on a rotating basis, with lunch potentially provided by the host.- Essential amenities include a shower room, kitchen, and Wi-Fi, with a sleeping bag required.



Leisure Activities: – The project is located in the picturesque Azumino-city, known for its fresh, tasty apples and beautiful nature.- Volunteers can participate in exchange parties and visit hot springs during their leisure time.- Excursions are available on free days, enhancing cultural and recreational experiences.
