About this camp: Volunteers will engage in terraced rice field conservation and pesticide-free agriculture in the devastated mountainous areas, including the management and harvesting of organic vegetables and rice, crop production in terraced rice paddies, and the restoration of abandoned farmland. Accommodation is provided in an old Japanese house where volunteers share kitchen and shower facilities and cook for themselves, with opportunities for local cultural engagement and sightseeing.




Work: – Management and harvesting of organic vegetables and rice.- Crop production in terraced rice paddies.- Restoration of deserted terraced rice paddies and abandoned farmland.- Planning and management of events to promote organic crops.- Engaging in pesticide-free agriculture practices.



Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers stay at an old Japanese house next to the local host’s.- The kitchen and shower are shared with the local host.- Volunteers cook by themselves, and smoking is not allowed.



Leisure Activities: – Located in Gose city, Nara pref., about 50 km southeast of Osaka.- Opportunities to join local events and learn local wisdom.- Sightseeing and short trips to hot springs, temples, and shrines.
