About this camp: Volunteers will engage in various agricultural activities in the Southern part of the Fukuoka prefecture, including cultivating rice, helping local green tea farms, supporting events at Sansojuku, and taking care of goats. The Egao no mori center, previously an elementary school, provides a space for volunteers to cook for themselves while they immerse in local culture and participate in community events.
Work: – Cultivating rice through planting and maintaining terraced fields from May to November.- Assisting with local green tea and vegetable farming during designated months.- Supporting Sansojuku events, which include promotion, preparation, and cleanup.- Caring for goats on a daily basis.- Participating in local community events and learning local wisdom.
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation provided at the Egao no mori center, formerly Kasahara-higashi elementary school.- Volunteers are responsible for their own cooking.- Facilities are basic and designed for self-sufficiency.
Leisure Activities: – Located in Yame city, known for its terraced paddy fields and tea trees.- Opportunities to join local events and engage with the community.- Possibilities for sightseeing, including visits to hot springs and famous local attractions.
