About this camp: Volunteers will engage primarily in mandarin farming, including harvesting, tree care, and grass cutting, depending on the season, with peak work from November to April. They will also have opportunities to support a local youth club, create new activities for the town, and enjoy local events and sightseeing in a traditional Japanese-style house with shared accommodations.
Work: – Assist with mandarin farming tasks such as harvesting and tree maintenance.- Participate in seasonal work, especially during the challenging months from November to April.- Support the local youth club when possible.- Create and implement new activities to engage the community.- Learn and appreciate local customs and agriculture.
Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers will stay in a shared room with separate accommodations for males and females.- The house is a traditional Japanese style, providing an authentic living experience.- Volunteers will be responsible for cooking their own meals.
Leisure Activities: – Fishing opportunities are available due to the camp’s location on the Sata Peninsula.- The community is small, with only 30 houses, promoting a close-knit environment.- Volunteers can join local events and participate in sightseeing trips to hot springs and famous local attractions.
