About this camp: Volunteers will engage in terraced rice field conservation and pesticide-free agriculture in the devastated mountainous areas, including management and harvesting of organic vegetables and rice, crop production in terraced rice paddies, and restoration of deserted terraced rice paddies. They will stay at an old Japanese house next to the local host’s, sharing facilities, while also participating in local events and sightseeing opportunities.




Work: – Management and harvesting of organic vegetables and rice.- Crop production in terraced rice paddies.- Restoration of deserted terraced rice paddies and abandoned farmland.- Planning and management of events to promote organic crops.- Engaging in pesticide-free agriculture practices.



Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers stay at an old Japanese house next to the local host’s.- The kitchen and shower are shared with the local host.- Volunteers cook by themselves; smoking is not allowed.



Leisure Activities: – Located in Gose city, Nara pref., about 50 km southeast of Osaka.- Join local events and learn local wisdom.- Opportunities for sightseeing and short trips to hot springs, temples, and shrines.
