About this camp: Amphibians are among the most endangered native animal species in Germany, with only 6 of the 20 native species not currently endangered. This project aims to construct an outdoor facility for breeding endangered amphibians under controlled conditions, ensuring their long-term preservation and potential reintroduction into the wild.
Work: – Construction of an outdoor facility for breeding endangered amphibian species.- Creation of a spacious outdoor terrarium to mimic natural habitats.- Provision of various sub-habitats including summer habitat, reproduction water, and hibernation areas.- Design of the terrarium to include hiding places, natural vegetation, and basking areas.- Collaboration on the interior design for species such as yellow-bellied toad, tree frog, and midwife toad.
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation in Niedtalhalle with kitchen, sanitary facilities, and gym as sleeping area.- Group cooking with provided budget for shopping.- Vegetarian or vegan meal options available; intolerances must be indicated upon registration.
Leisure Activities: – Located in Rehlingen-Siersburg, Saarland, 40 km northwest of Saarbrücken.- Close proximity to Trier, Luxembourg, and Metz, each 60 km away.- Opportunities for local exploration and cultural activities in the nearby areas.
