About this camp: The Eifel is Germany’s youngest volcanic region, known for its abundant mineral springs and volcanoes. The project aims to establish climate-resilient forests and involves activities such as releasing young plants, removing vegetation from historical sites, and engaging in school-related projects in collaboration with local students and teachers.
Work: – Create climate-resilient forests by releasing young plants on farms.- Remove vegetation at the Glaadt castle ruins to prevent decay.- Remove fences in nature conservation areas.- Launch an outdoor fitness park and redesign green classrooms at local schools.- Collaborate with students and teachers in Jnkerath and Stadtkyll.
Accommodation and Food: – Stay in log cabins with shared rooms at a forest youth camp.- Shared facilities include a communal kitchen and lounge.- Vegetarian or vegan meal options are available, with money provided for shopping.
Leisure Activities: – Optional hikes to the maars on Saturdays.- Excursions to Rursee lake on Wednesdays.- Possibilities for trips to Cologne, Trier, and Luxembourg City.
