About this camp: The Peace Studies Center is situated on the edge of a former battlefield where a notable battle occurred 472 years ago. Participants will engage in manual work to transform the area into a playing field, involving creative projects and learning about peace work and non-violent conflict management, alongside visits to significant historical sites.
Work: – Participants will continue last year’s work to design elements of a playing field.- Manual work will include tasks with wood, metal, earth, and gardening.- A video project will be developed to trace peace work in Sievershausen.- Basic training in non-violent conflict management will be provided by professional trainers.- Visits to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp memorial and a nearby youth center are included.
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation is provided in rooms with four beds each.- Bed sheets are available for participants.- Food will be prepared collectively in the seminar house kitchen.
Leisure Activities: – Participants can use facilities of the seminar house for leisure activities.- There is a small park available for outdoor relaxation.- Excursions to Hannover and Braunschweig are organized.
