About this camp: Join us in revitalizing peatlands in the Hunsrück area, crucial for carbon storage and biodiversity. Under the guidance of a Park Ranger, you’ll work to improve water balance and restore these unique ecosystems, while also engaging in educational activities about their ecological importance.
Work: – Contribute to the protection of special peatlands on the slopes of the Hunsrück.- Improve the water balance in moor areas to aid in renaturation.- Close ditches and control water flow to enhance peatland health.- Participate in environmental education activities with support from Park Rangers.- Prepare for physically demanding work in wet and muddy conditions.
Accommodation and Food: – Stay in a spacious community center in Deuselbach with a large kitchen and living area.- Responsibilities include grocery shopping and cooking as a group, with a focus on sustainable dishes.- Bring your own sleeping bag; WiFi and laundry facilities are available.
Leisure Activities: – Engage with local villagers through organized events and parties.- Explore the nearby village of Thalfang for shops and recreational facilities.- Participate in excursions to Trier, the oldest city in Germany, to discover its Roman heritage.
