About this camp: The park rangers of the National Park Hunsrck-Hochwald are seeking your help to preserve the unique fauna and flora of the area while providing endangered species with their original habitats. Volunteers will engage in tasks such as caring for grasslands, working at a wildlife park, and restoring natural water flows, all while learning about the ecosystem from rangers.
Work: – Care for nutrient-poor grassland and arnica meadows to protect biodiversity.- Work at the wildlife park of Wildenburg Castle, including renewing wooden fences and building hiding elements for animals.- Restore natural water flows by closing drainage channels and revitalizing stream curves.- Participate in other environmental protection tasks as needed.- Be prepared for physically demanding work, getting wet and muddy.
Accommodation and Food: – Stay in the spacious community centre of Deuselbach with a large kitchen and living room.- Volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking, with food provided by the camp budget.- Encourage reducing meat consumption for sustainability.
Leisure Activities: – The camp is located in a small village, Deuselbach, welcoming volunteers with local events.- Nearby village Thalfang offers shops and recreational facilities, 4 km away.- Excursions to historical sites like Trier, the oldest city in Germany, with support from park rangers.
