About this camp: The Great Himalayan National Park, located in Himachal Pradesh, India, features high alpine peaks, meadows, and vital water sources for millions downstream. Awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 2014, it protects diverse flora and fauna while offering volunteers the opportunity to engage with local communities through social and cultural activities.
Work: – Understanding the social and cultural aspects of local communities- Engaging in natural heritage conservation awareness campaigns- Participating in community tree plantation initiatives- Teaching children about natural heritage- Implementing Sustainable Development Goals activities in schools
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation in a rented guest house or hostel with shared rooms- North Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals provided for all meals- Safe, filtered drinking water available
Leisure Activities: – Interactions with ASI and local communities to address social challenges- Mural painting on natural heritage conservation in public spaces- Community clean-up drives
