About this camp: The Great Himalayan National Park, located in Himachal Pradesh, India, features high alpine peaks and diverse ecosystems, encompassing vital water sources for downstream users. Volunteers will engage in community service activities, learning about social and cultural dynamics while contributing to natural heritage conservation.
Work: – Understand social and cultural aspects of the local community.- Participate in tree planting and clean-up drives.- Conduct educational workshops on natural heritage conservation.- Collaborate with local communities and officials on sustainable initiatives.- Engage in intercultural activities to promote awareness.
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation is provided in shared rooms at a rented guest house or hostel.- Meals include North Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian options for all main meals.- Safe, filtered drinking water is available.
Leisure Activities: – Enjoy a day of trekking, nature walks, and bird watching.- Interact with local families to learn about their culture and traditions.- Visit temples and cultural sites in the area.
