About this camp: Volunteers at the Development for Cambodian Children (DCC) project can engage in a variety of meaningful activities, including education support, environmental activities, community development, and sports and recreation, allowing them to make a lasting impact while connecting deeply with the local community. Accommodation includes a shared house with host families, essential amenities, and meals prepared by a local chef, ensuring a comfortable stay.
Work: – Teaching English, basic computer skills, and coding to enhance academic and professional opportunities for children and teenagers.- Organizing community cleaning campaigns and leading workshops on trash management and recycling projects.- Supporting emergency relief efforts, including food distribution and building houses and toilets.- Leading sports and physical education sessions to promote teamwork and physical fitness among children.- Engaging in community farm projects to support local agriculture.
Accommodation and Food: – Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared house with a host family, ensuring a comfortable stay.- Essential amenities include a mattress, pillow, blanket, and mosquito net, along with access to shower and toilet facilities.- Meals are prepared by a local chef, and volunteers can assist with serving and cleaning or join the cooking team to learn local culinary skills.
Leisure Activities: – Volunteers can explore unique attractions in Battambang, including ancient temples like Wat Ek Phnom and Phnom Banan.- They can take a scenic ride on the famous Bamboo Train through the countryside.- Cycling tours through lush rice fields and local villages provide opportunities to appreciate the area’s beauty while relaxing at local cafes and trying traditional Cambodian dishes.
