About this camp: Volunteers at the CYA-Learning Center (CLC) play a vital role in creating meaningful learning experiences and fostering community development. Through diverse and impactful activities, they help bridge gaps in education and provide opportunities for children and teenagers that are not available in public schools.
Work: – Teach English and Essential Skills to support students in improving their language abilities and life skills.- Develop and Implement Programs by designing and delivering creative curricula and workshops.- Engage in Hands-On Projects such as vegetable gardening, soap-making workshops, and classroom renovations.- Foster Cultural Exchange by sharing knowledge and experiences while learning from local culture and traditions.- Contribute to community initiatives that expand opportunities for the community while gaining invaluable experiences.
Accommodation and Food: – Stay at a simple yet comfortable volunteer house with essential amenities including a mattress, blanket, and pillow provided for each volunteer.- The house is equipped with several showers and toilets to ensure a practical and convenient living environment.- Meals are prepared by volunteers on a rotational basis, showcasing Cambodian culinary traditions with fresh ingredients from local markets.
Leisure Activities: – Explore nearby tourist attractions such as Teuk Chhou, Bokor National Park, and Rabbit Island during free time.- Interact with local people, teenagers, and children in the open, remote area surrounding CLC.- Organize fun and creative activities to foster meaningful connections and cultural exchange.
