About this camp: This workcamp focuses on assisting local communities in income generation through brick making, eradicating jiggers in schools and homes, and preparing tree nurseries. Volunteers will engage in home visits, facilitate cultural exchanges, and distribute sanitary towels, while also having the opportunity to explore local attractions during their stay.
Work: – Assisting local people in brick making for income generation- Eradicating and treating jiggers in local schools and homes- Preparing tree nurseries and planting new trees- Conducting home visits and facilitating exchange programs in local schools- Distributing sanitary towels to needy children in schools
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation is provided at a host family in shared rooms- Volunteers must bring their own sleeping bag and mosquito net- Food will be sourced from locally available ingredients, and volunteers share cooking responsibilities
Leisure Activities: – Evening walks and cultural meetings are included- Weekend visits to Lake Victoria and the equator line are available- Early morning visits to Kakamega Rainforest for hiking and witnessing sunrise
