About this camp: This workcamp focuses on farm work, including weeding, digging, and planting maize, beans, and vegetables, as well as fetching water and assisting with domestic animals. Volunteers will also engage in sports activities, organize life skill sessions for children, and participate in cultural exchanges, with accommodation provided in shared rooms at a host family.
Work: – Farm work involving weeding, digging, and planting crops.- Fetching water from the river or tap.- Engaging in sports activities and playing with children.- Assisting in grazing domestic animals and harvesting.- Organizing life skill sessions in local schools.
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation is at a host family in shared rooms.- Volunteers must bring their own sleeping bag and mosquito net.- Food is provided from local foodstuffs, with shared cooking responsibilities.
Leisure Activities: – Evening walks and home visits are available.- Cultural meetings and games will be organized.- Weekend excursions to Rusinga hills, Mafangano Islands, and Tom Mboya Mausoleum.
