About this camp: This workcamp involves various farm activities such as weeding, digging, and planting maize, beans, and vegetables, as well as fetching water and assisting with domestic animals. Volunteers will stay with host families in shared rooms and share food preparation responsibilities, while also engaging in cultural activities and leisure visits during weekends.
Work: – Weeding, digging, and planting maize, beans, and vegetables- Fetching water from the river or tap- Engaging in sports activities and playing with children- Assisting in grazing domestic animals- Organizing life skill sessions in local schools
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation will be provided at a host family in shared rooms- Volunteers must bring their own sleeping bag and mosquito net- Food will be sourced from locally available ingredients and prepared collectively
Leisure Activities: – Evening walks and home visits- Cultural meetings and games- Weekend visits to Rusinga hills, Mafangano Islands, and Tom Mboya Mausoleum
