About this camp: Beyond the vineyard: the dry stone heritage is a camp focused on UNESCO-declared dry stone works. Participants will restore a significant stone wall, a shepherd’s stone hut, and Civil War trenches in Subirats, a rural area where they will engage with local communities and contribute to the conservation of historical and cultural heritage.
Work: – Restoration and maintenance of dry stone margins between Ordal and Saint Paul of Ordal.- Restoration of Civil War trench remnants to enhance accessibility.- Restoration of a shepherd’s hut near the Archaeological Jaciment of Subirats.- Location of dry stone constructions using the Wikipedra portal.- Maintenance tasks in Saint Paul’s Ordal including public banks and children’s park.
Accommodation and Food: – Participants will be accommodated in ZER Montcau, a multifunctional school space with a large patio and shared facilities.- Sleeping arrangements involve shared large rooms with bunk beds, without gender separation.- Catering will provide meals, with vegetarian/vegan options and snacks during breaks.
Leisure Activities: – Daily group games, workshops, and cultural activities to learn about Catalan culture and vineyard traditions.- Visits to cultural and historical areas, including a wine and champagne factory and museums in Subirats.- Excursions to Barcelona and participation in castellers rehearsals to learn about Catalan human towers.
