About this camp: With its rich history, international volunteers have been welcomed at the castle since the 1980s to help maintain and promote it, and enliven local life during the summer. This year, 5 international workcamps are organized at the fortress over the summer, focusing on restoration tasks and environmental maintenance.
Work: – Participate in the restoration of the Montaigu-le-Blin fortress.- Learn traditional masonry techniques under the guidance of a technical supervisor.- Assist in maintaining woodwork for safety barriers and relaxation areas.- Engage in environmental activities like clearing brush and maintaining a vegetable garden.- Contribute to the preservation and enhancement of exceptional heritage.
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation is in tents, located 10-15 minutes from the fortress and 5 minutes from the village center.- On-site organization promotes eco-friendly living through waste sorting and composting.- Volunteers plan meals and maintain shared spaces, fostering a collaborative daily life.
Leisure Activities: – Montaigu-le-Blin offers a rich historical and cultural heritage.- The fortress, dating back to the 13th century, was built to defend the crown of France.- Experience the local culture and history through various activities in the village.
