About this camp: With its rich history, international volunteers have been welcomed at the castle since the 1980s to help maintain and promote it, and enliven local life during the summer. This year, 5 international workcamps are organized at the fortress over the summer, where you will participate in restoration tasks, learn traditional masonry techniques, assist with woodwork maintenance, and engage in environmental actions.
Work: – Participate in restoration tasks around the castle.- Learn traditional masonry techniques such as removing and re-pointing walls.- Assist in maintaining woodwork, including safety barriers and relaxation areas.- Engage in environmental actions like clearing brush and maintaining the vegetable garden.- Contribute to the preservation and enhancement of exceptional heritage.
Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation is in tents, 10-15 minutes on foot from the fortress.- Organized on-site with respect for the environment, including waste sorting and composting.- Volunteers participate in planning meals, shopping, preparing food, and maintaining shared spaces.
Leisure Activities: – Montaigu-le-Blin offers a rich historical and cultural heritage.- The fortress dates back to the 13th century and was built to defend the crown of France.- Volunteers will experience the local culture and history during their stay.
