About this camp: The work for volunteers is designed to be diverse, including cleaning and organizing the school and garden on rainy days, and removing invasive plant species on sunny days. Volunteers will also assist in community events and enjoy a meaningful experience in a welcoming community with rich cultural traditions.




Work: – Cleaning and organizing the school and its garden on rainy days.- Removing invasive plant species from roadsides and clearing overgrown areas on sunny days.- Assisting in setting up and dismantling traditional celebration events.- Helping in the community cafe and related tasks.- Engaging in a mix of hands-on outdoor activities and indoor maintenance.



Accommodation and Food: – Accommodation is in a traditional Finnish countryside house with four bedrooms and a sauna.- Volunteers will prepare their own breakfasts and snacks as a group.- Lunch is provided on-site and dinner is prepared by the local host with volunteer assistance.



Leisure Activities: – Uukuniemi is located on the shores of Lake Pyhajarvi, surrounded by beautiful landscapes.- Free time activities include canoeing, paddleboarding, swimming, mountain biking, and hiking.- Opportunities to spot rare birds and enjoy evenings by the campfire.
