About this camp: This project is divided into two key components, focusing on supporting selected families in improving their livelihoods through activities like gardening and small-scale domestic production, while also offering volunteers the chance to connect with local women’s groups and families. Volunteers gain insights into local culture and everyday life through these interactions.




Work: – Support selected families to improve their livelihoods through gardening and small-scale production.- Engage with local women’s groups and community members.- Share personal stories and experiences with the community.- Gain a deep understanding of local culture and lifestyle.- Participate in hands-on activities to enhance local agricultural practices.



Accommodation and Food: – Stay in a traditional village house with a local family.- Shared but separate rooms for male and female volunteers.- Host mother prepares meals while volunteers are responsible for cleaning and laundry.



Leisure Activities: – Located 114 km from Colombo, in a mountainous region at 590 meters elevation.- Close to ancient kingdoms like Gampola and Kandy, with historic temples and stunning landscapes.- Opportunities to explore scenic and historical sites on free days.
