About this camp: This project is divided into two key components: improving livelihoods for selected families through activities like gardening and home production, and offering volunteers the chance to engage with local communities, including women’s groups and children. Volunteers will gain insights into local culture while living in a traditional village house with a local family, located in the picturesque hill country of Gampola, Sri Lanka.




Work: – Support families in improving livelihoods through gardening and small-scale production.- Engage with local women’s groups and village youth.- Share personal stories with the community.- Gain insights into local culture and daily life.- Participate in community-based activities.



Accommodation and Food: – Stay in a traditional village house with a local family.- Shared but separate rooms for male and female volunteers.- Host mother prepares meals while volunteers handle cleaning and laundry.



Leisure Activities: – Explore the historical landmarks of Kandy, Sri Lanka’s second capital.- Enjoy the cool weather, with temperatures ranging from 22C to 24C.- Discover the natural scenery surrounding Gampola.
