About this camp: The project consists of two key components: supporting families engaged in self-employment through income-generating activities like home gardening and workshops, and community engagement with local institutions to foster meaningful connections. Volunteers will stay with a host family in a village house, allowing them to immerse in local culture while enjoying basic amenities.




Work: – Support families with self-employment activities.- Enhance income through home gardening and workshops.- Engage with community self-help groups and youth.- Collaborate with local institutions like temples and kindergartens.- Foster cultural exchange between volunteers and locals.



Accommodation and Food: – Stay in a village house with a welcoming host family.- Enjoy delicious meals prepared by the host mother.- Basic amenities include electricity, filtered drinking water, and hand laundry.



Leisure Activities: – Explore Higurakgoda, a suburb of Polonnaruwa, the ancient kingdom of Sri Lanka.- Visit archaeological sites that are part of the world heritage.- Experience the local paddy farming lifestyle in a low population density area.
