About this camp: The project focuses on supporting families in self-employment through income-generating activities like home gardening and workshops, while also fostering community engagement by visiting villages and participating in activities with local groups. Volunteers will stay in a village house with a host family, sharing cultural experiences and forming meaningful connections.




Work: – Support families in self-employment by enhancing income-generating activities.- Engage with community through visits and participation in local activities.- Facilitate self-help groups and cleaning activities with villagers.- Share lives, cultures, and experiences with locals.- Foster meaningful connections within the community.



Accommodation and Food: – Stay in a village house with a welcoming host family.- Host mother prepares delicious meals and filtered drinking water is provided.- House has electricity, mobile phone connectivity, and laundry is done by hand.



Leisure Activities: – Project located in rural Siyabalagas wewa, 248 km from Colombo.- Nearest town is 8 km away; Anuradhapura city is 24 km from the site.- Mihintale, a historically significant location, is also 8 km away.
