Important Statement: Concerning Fraudulent Activities Involving Impersonation of VolTra for International Workcamp Applications

Dear Participants and General Public,

Recently, we have received reports of individuals impersonating “VolTra” / “VolTra Limited” and illegally collecting fees for volunteer programs. In response, we solemnly declare that the only official channel for applying to VolTra’s international volunteer projects (workcamps) is through our official website (https://www.voltra.org). All applications must be submitted through this website. We do not accept applications or payments for workcamps through any communication apps or social media platforms

In addition, VolTra shares registration forms for other activities via our official website and social media platforms, which include:

We also communicate and provide support to participants via WhatsApp and email for matters such as pre-departure briefings, local volunteer experiences, support before and after activities, as well as detailed workcamp information. Additionally, we share updates via our official email subscription system for subscribers.

For those interested in participating in international volunteer services, please note the following:

  1. Ensure that the organization you are applying to is a registered charity in the respective country. VolTra’s company registration number is 53610456, and our tax-exempt charity reference number is 91/11726. If you have any doubts, you can verify this information via the Companies Registry, Inland Revenue Department, or other official channels.

  2. Review the organization’s annual report to understand the legitimacy and scope of their charitable work. VolTra’s annual report can be found here: https://www.voltra.org/annual-report

  3. All applications and payments must be processed through the official website. VolTra’s official website is www.voltra.org. Many international volunteer organizations use “.org” domain names, so please ensure you are on a legitimate “.org” website. Do not process applications or payments through personal or unofficial channels

  4. Confirm whether the organization is part of an international volunteer network. VolTra is the sole representative organization in Hong Kong for the following international networks:

    1. Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) under the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO),

    2. Network for Voluntary Development in Asia (NVDA),

    3. Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations (ALLIANCE).

    4. You can find more information about these international networks and their links here: https://www.voltra.org/about-us

We strongly advise everyone to remain vigilant, ensure you are using official channels for application submissions and payments, and avoid becoming a victim of fraud. If you have any questions, please reach out through our official channels to safeguard your personal rights.

Thank you for your continued support of VolTra as we work together to prevent fraud and uphold the safety and trust within our community.
